Brigade Enterprises Limited was founded in Bangalore in 1986 by M. R. Jaishankar and is listed on the BSE and NSE. The group operates across residential apartments and villas, commercial office space, shopping malls, hotels and leisure, along with property management and an education arm, and it developed the mixed use Brigade Gateway and World Trade Center Bangalore campuses that also house its own headquarters. Bangalore accounts for the largest share of its residential activity, with current schemes spread across Yelahanka and Devanahalli in the north, Sarjapur Road and Old Madras Road in the east, Electronic City in the south and the Tumkur Road corridor in the west. The company also develops in Chennai, Hyderabad, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Kochi and Ahmedabad, and in the GIFT City area of Gujarat.
